Thermal protection sprays, serums, and oils that shield natural and textured hair from flat iron, blow dryer, diffuser, and steam heat. Heat damage is cumulative: each unprotected styling session raises the protein-to-moisture ratio inside the strand, making it progressively more brittle until the damage becomes visible as breakage, split ends, and loss of curl definition.
For blow drying, use a lightweight spray or leave-in with heat-protectant coating, applied to damp hair before a low-to-medium heat blow-out. For flat ironing, choose a serum or oil-based protectant rated to 450°F or higher, applied to dry hair in thin sections before each pass. For diffusing, a lightweight spray keeps curls from being weighed down or losing their pattern.
Never flat iron over wet hair regardless of protectant. Keep iron temperature at the lowest effective setting for your texture.
